Our Story
How It Started
A man named Al and his three brothers discovered "The Flowage" after WWII and made it their family vacation spot, as they all were avid fishermen. After much trial and error, the group discovered that the simple June Bug Spinner was just about the only lure that could entice the perpetually elusive walleye. It was no longer necessary to sacrifice expensive tackle to the challenging stump and rock-filled waters. The June Bug Spinner was economical and effective, and still is to this day. Angler Al's Tackle is proud to bring this historical lure back to the marketplace.
How It's Going
We believe fishing is a sport of family, tradition, and relaxation. It is our vision to keep these simple ideas alive by producing hand crafted quality tackle in the USA. After a hiatus due to some family happenings, the Angler Al's family is back at it again: making the classic June Bug Spinner.
Our goal is to produce a reasonably priced, yet quality lure in finishes of gold and nickel plated, the classic red and white, as well as many color combinations never found before. All lures are hand crafted in the USA.
How They Work
Angler Al's June Bug Spinner catches everything from walleye, pike, bass, panfish and musky to a variety of saltwater species. Presentation can range from a slow troll to a quick cast and retrieve. The beauty of the june bug blade is that the blade will always rotate, regardless of retrieval speed. It is attached to the stainless steel shaft in two places: at the top and also at the center with a swingarm. The coil spring fastener feature also allows fishermen to quickly change hooks and baits to adjust to changing weather or fishing patterns.
